Happy Trails

A new team commemorated the 90th anniversary of the Mountain Club of Maryland by creating Happy Trails, which started the race with four large rotating 2-sided billboards showing happy hikers. |

The Mountain Club of Maryland is responsible for maintaining Maryland’s 41 miles of the 2198-mile Appalachian Trail. The AT passes through 14 states along the east coast from Georgia to Maine. |

Sometime between the above photo on Pratt Street and this one at the cobblestones around the National Katyń Memorial, they lost their front billboard, continuing the rest of the race with only 3. |

They were awarded the Judges’ Fill-in-the-Blank award for their “shameless plugging” of the Mountain Club by successfully racing a mobile billboard. |
