Buried man rises to participate in KSR!

Post by Elliot »

:D
The rules were clear. At this Ventura KSR, no team would be allowed to change Pilots during the race. No “fresh legs”. Penalty of banishment.

So here comes a team of High School students with a two-seat contraption and about twelve members on the team. How would they pick just two to race? They didn’t. They stretched it to three.

On the Beach segment of the race, they buried one of their team in the sand, just nose sticking out, about half way thru. When their Racing Sculpture came along, the buried man jumped out of the sand and took the place of one of the tired Pilots – who was quickly buried. All in front of a couple hundred cheering eyewitnesses.

We gave them the Racers Choice Award for Most Audacious Cheating. Good times!

I cannot believe that this is true. No disrespect but did you believe it yourself when you were witnessing it. Good on the kids i say and good on ya to give them the award for audacious cheating. I think the whole episode is just JAZZZ...Loved it. Need more posts like this to cheer us all up.

Awww-Kayyyy.... I was about to expand on the merriment for you, but I clicked on your signature link first. In my personal opinion, the Viagra advertisement suggests you are not a sincere participant in these discussions. Good day to you.

In front of a couple hundred cheering eyewitnesses??? I don't know how it was possible. This is the best cheating I ever known.

Hey there, Anne20:

Perhaps I should clarify that cheating is encouraged in this sport. That is... not "real" cheating like taking a shortcut or towing behind a car, but creative theatrical cheating. Kinetic Sculpture Racing is kind'a like a day-long street theater performance. So these high-schoolers put on a fabulous show for their couple hundred Glorious Spectators who had ventured out in the sand to see whatever was there to see (and were well rewarded for their effort), and the technical violation of the rules was happily ignored by all.
